"The totems change and are adorned with new finery," says Julyen Hamilton in her poem "Modern Times". The totems change but the demons remain identical and hidden from view. It takes all the malice and rigour of the British artist to exhibit them in full light. After more than 40 years of performing all over the world, Julien Hamilton knows how to activate the imagination in a constantly reinvented "here and now". This expert in improvisation merges texts and movements into solos which, far from contracting on themselves, are the pretexts for a real aesthetic and spiritual encounter. It is always to the collective consciousness that he addresses, playing on the contagious nature of his own intimate explorations. After "Koan", his previous performance, "Anonymous" offers a new and fascinating direct experience of awakening. It is in vain that we will try to circumscribe the process because its strength lies in its immediacy. And in the uniqueness of the material you bring: yourself.

Il y a du génie chez Julyen Hamilton. Un talent inné pour tirer de la page blanche de l’instant et du lieu la plus (re)belle des poésies. Pour cette performance, il lève les masques des démons anonymes pour… Allez-y voir!
«Les totems changent et se parent de nouveaux atours» constate Julyen Hamilton dans son poème «Les temps modernes». Les totems changent mais les démons, eux, restent identiques et dissimulés au regard. Il faut toute la malice et la rigueur de l’artiste britannique pour les exposer en pleine lumière. Après plus de 40 ans à se produire partout sur la planète, Julien Hamilton sait comment procéder pour activer les imaginaires dans un «ici et maintenant» sans cesse réinventé. Cet expert en improvisation fait fusionner textes et mouvements dans des soli qui, loin de se contracter sur eux-mêmes, sont les prétextes d’une véritable rencontre esthétique et spirituelle. C’est toujours à la conscience collective qu’il s’adresse, jouant du caractère contagieux de ses propres explorations intimes. Après «Koan», sa précédente performance, «Anonymous» propose une nouvelle et fascinante expérience directe d’éveil. C’est en vain qu’on cherchera à en circonscrire le processus tant sa force réside dans son immédiateté. Et dans la singularité du matériau que vous apportez : vous-même.
