Covering almost 450m2, the museum presents the history of Civaux from the Middle Ages to the beginning of Prehistory, following an anti-chronological trail modelled on archaeological strata.
A particular feature of the museum is the large number of objects found in funerary contexts, particularly in the Merovingian necropolis: rings, fibulae, urns, glass and terracotta vases.

Daily life is also well represented, with kitchen and tableware, ornaments, toiletries and tools, as well as elements of a sculpted group from the Roman period: a panther's head and a hand of the god Bacchus.

A visit to the archaeological museum is like plunging back in time to Civaux's rich past.
