The Centre horticole d'Argenteuil is at the heart of the Green Spaces Department, a municipal service with 105 agents with various profiles: gardeners, horticulturists, winemakers, pruners, engineers, technicians or agricultural mechanics. Together, they design, produce and maintain the city’s flower beds and green spaces.
The site covers 2,300 m2 of buildings, with 810 m2 of glass greenhouses, 1,700 m2 of air-conditioned greenhouses, 560 m2 of plastic tunnels, and 1,000 m2 of cold frames. Around 40,000 annual plants, 35,000 biannual plants and over 2,000 m2 of bulb plantations are produced annually, with 560 aerial flowering points spread throughout the city.
The centre also houses a collection of over 450 varieties of plants from around the world: orchids, tropical plants, desert and other exotic species. A true plant heritage.
At the municipal level, green spaces cover 25% of the territory, or more than 79 hectares, 50 of which are open to the public. There are nearly 12,000 trees,
