Am 8. April 1925 wurde ein neues Gebäude im Herzen von Nizza eröffnet: die Stadtbibliothek von Nizza, die heute als Bibliothèque patrimoniale Romain Gary bekannt ist. Seit einem Jahrhundert bewahrt dieser majestätische Ort, der von Generationen von Studenten, Forschern und Wissenliebhabern besucht wird, die Spuren unseres kollektiven Erbes. Seine mit Art-déco-Motiven geschmückten Säle und die seltenen Sammlungen aus der ehemaligen bischöflichen Bibliothek von 1706, die durch revolutionäre Konfiszierungen und Schenkungen namhafter Gelehrter bereichert wurden, machen es zu einem Tempel des schriftlichen Erbes.
Anlässlich des 100-jährigen Bestehens der Institution werden in einer außergewöhnlichen Ausstellung unveröffentlichte Archive gezeigt, die die spannende Geschichte dieser Institution nachzeichnen: alte Manuskripte, wertvolle Drucke, wissenschaftliche Korrespondenzen, Kunstgegenstände und einzigartige Tondokumente: Eine repräsentative Auswahl der in der Bibliothek aufbewahrten Schätze wird erstmals der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht.
Eine einzigartige Feier, um diesen symbolträchtigen Ort der Kultur von Nizza wieder zu entdecken.

The Romain Gary Heritage Library: 100 years of history and heritage
On 8 April 1925, a new building opened its doors in the heart of Nice: the Municipal Library of Nice, now known as the Roman Gary Heritage Library. For a century, this majestic place, frequented by generations of students, researchers and knowledge lovers, has preserved the traces of our collective heritage. Its rooms decorated with Art Deco motifs and its rare collections drawn from the old episcopal library of 1706, enriched by revolutionary confiscations and gifts from notable scholars, make it a temple of written heritage.
On the occasion of its centenary, an exceptional exhibition reveals unpublished archives tracing the fascinating history of this institution: ancient manuscripts, precious prints, scholarly correspondences, art objects and unique sound documents: A representative selection of the library’s treasures will be unveiled to the public for the first time.
A unique celebration to rediscover this emblematic place of Nice culture.

L'8 aprile 1925, un nuovo edificio ha aperto le sue porte nel cuore di Nizza: la biblioteca municipale di Nizza, ora conosciuta come Bibliothèque patrimoniale Romain Gary. Da un secolo, questo luogo maestoso, frequentato da generazioni di studenti, ricercatori e amanti del sapere, conserva preziosamente le tracce della nostra eredità collettiva. Le sue sale ornate di motivi Art Déco e le sue rare collezioni attinte dall'antica biblioteca episcopale del 1706, arricchite dalle confische rivoluzionarie e dai doni di notabili studiosi, ne fanno un tempio del patrimonio scritto.
In occasione del suo centenario, un'eccezionale esposizione rivela archivi inediti che ripercorrono l'emozionante storia di questa istituzione: manoscritti antichi, stampe preziose, corrispondenze erudite, oggetti d'arte e documenti sonori unici: Per la prima volta sarà presentata al pubblico una selezione rappresentativa dei tesori conservati dalla biblioteca.
Una celebrazione unica per riscoprire questo luogo emblematico della cultura di Nizza.

Le 8 avril 1925, un nouvel édifice ouvrait ses portes au cœur de Nice : la bibliothèque Municipale de Nice, désormais connue sous le nom de Bibliothèque patrimoniale Romain Gary. Depuis un siècle, ce lieu majestueux, fréquenté par des générations d’étudiants, de chercheurs et d’amoureux du savoir, conserve précieusement les traces de notre héritage collectif. Ses salles ornées de motifs d'Art Déco et ses collections rares puisées dans l’ancienne bibliothèque épiscopale de 1706, enrichies par les confiscations révolutionnaires et les dons de notables érudits, en font un temple du patrimoine écrit.
À l’occasion de son centenaire, une exposition exceptionnelle révèle des archives inédites retraçant l’histoire passionnante de cette institution : manuscrits anciens, imprimés précieux, correspondances savantes, objets d’art et documents sonores uniques : un éventail représentatif des trésors conservés par la bibliothèque sera dévoilé pour la première fois au public.

Desde hace un siglo, este majestuoso lugar, frecuentado por generaciones de estudiantes, investigadores y amantes del saber, conserva preciosamente las huellas de nuestro patrimonio colectivo. Sus salas adornadas con motivos de Art Déco y sus colecciones raras sacadas de la antigua biblioteca episcopal de 1706, enriquecidas por las confiscaciones revolucionarias y los dones de notables eruditos, lo convierten en un templo del patrimonio escrito.
Con motivo de su centenario, una exposición excepcional revela archivos inéditos que retratan la apasionante historia de esta institución: manuscritos antiguos, impresos preciosos, correspondencias eruditas, objetos de arte y documentos sonoros únicos: Por primera vez se presentará al público una muestra representativa de los tesoros conservados en la biblioteca.
