Nestled in its green setting on the heights of the National Domain of Saint-Cloud, the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) coordinates the global system of measurements. He celebrated his one hundred and fiftieth birthday in 2025.
The BIPM opens its doors again in 2026 for the European Heritage Days: an opportunity for all Sévriens to visit this unique place. A visit to the Pavillon de Breteuil, inaugurated by Louis XIV in 1672, and its French-style gardens (Grand Parterre), as well as the collection of ancient instruments from the BIPM, will be offered to visitors, allowing them to discover the great figures of science who have marked the history of the BIPM.
The visits will take place in small groups (by reservation only), on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026. Guided tour lasting about an hour and a half.
