Anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes 2026, das Tourismusbüro von Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers lädt Sie ein, einen seltenen und faszinierenden Beruf zu entdecken: den von vergoldeter Verbinder.
Echt Buchhandwerker, der Goldbuchbinder erweckt die Werke zum Leben, indem er mit Geduld und Präzision Papier, Karton, Leder, Stoff und Dachmaterialien bearbeitet. Von der Vorbereitung der Hefte über die Buchbindearbeiten bis hin zu den Veredelungen und dem Vergoldern erfordert jeder Schritt Geschick, Können und Leidenschaft.
Während dieser handwerkliche Demonstration, Sie können die traditionellen Handgriffe des Handwerks beobachten, die vom Buchbinder verwendeten Werkzeuge entdecken und die verschiedenen Schritte verstehen, die zur Herstellung oder Restaurierung eines Buches erforderlich sind.
Die Vergoldung, besonders symbolisch für dieses Know-how, wird ebenfalls in den Mittelpunkt gestellt: Mit Hilfe von Eisen und erhitzten Zeichen markiert der Handwerker vorsichtig das Leder oder andere Träger, um daraus Muster, Ornamente oder Inschriften zu schaffen.

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, the Tourist Office of Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers invites you to discover a rare and fascinating art profession: that of gilding binder.
True book craftsman, the gilding binder brings the works back to life by working with patience and precision on paper, cardboard, leather, fabric and covering materials. From the preparation of notebooks to the realization of the binding, up to the finishes and gilding, each step requires dexterity, know-how and passion.
During this artisanal demonstration, you will be able to observe the traditional gestures of the trade, discover the tools used by the bookbinder and understand the different steps necessary for the manufacture or restoration of a book.
The gilding, particularly emblematic of this know-how, will also be honored: with the help of irons and heated characters, the craftsman delicately marks the leather or other supports to create patterns, ornaments or inscriptions.
This meeting will be an opportunity to exchange directly with the craftsman, to ask your questions and to discover a profession where tradition, precision and creativity meet.

In occasione delle Giornate europee del patrimonio 2026, l'Ufficio del turismo di Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers vi invita a scoprire un mestiere d'arte raro e affascinante: quello di raccordo dorato.
Vero artigiano del libro, il legatore dorato ridà vita alle opere lavorando con pazienza e precisione la carta, il cartone, la pelle, il tessuto e i materiali di copertura. Dalla preparazione dei quaderni alla realizzazione della rilegatura, fino alle finiture e all'imbiancatura, ogni fase richiede destrezza, abilità e passione.
Durante questa dimostrazione artigianale, potrete osservare i gesti tradizionali del mestiere, scoprire gli strumenti utilizzati dal rilegatore e comprendere le diverse fasi necessarie per la fabbricazione o il restauro di un libro.
L'orzo, particolarmente emblematico di questo savoir-faire, sarà anch'esso messo in risalto: con l'aiuto di ferri e caratteri riscaldati, l'artigiano segna delicatamente la pelle o altri supporti per creare motivi, ornamenti o iscrizioni.
Questo incontro sarà l'occasione per confrontarsi direttamente con l'artigiano, porre domande e scoprire un mestiere dove tradizione, precisione e creatività si incontrano.

À l’occasion des Journées européennes du patrimoine 2026, l’Office de Tourisme de Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers vous invite à découvrir un métier d’art rare et fascinant : celui de relieur doreur.
Véritable artisan du livre, le relieur doreur redonne vie aux ouvrages en travaillant avec patience et précision le papier, le carton, le cuir, le tissu et les matériaux de couverture. De la préparation des cahiers à la réalisation de la reliure, jusqu’aux finitions et à la dorure, chaque étape demande dextérité, savoir-faire et passion.
Lors de cette démonstration artisanale, vous pourrez observer les gestes traditionnels du métier, découvrir les outils utilisés par le relieur et comprendre les différentes étapes nécessaires à la fabrication ou à la restauration d’un livre.
La dorure, particulièrement emblématique de ce savoir-faire, sera également mise à l’honneur : à l’aide de fers et de caractères chauffés, l’artisan vient délicatement marquer le cuir ou d’autres supports pour y créer des motifs, des ornements ou des inscriptions.
Cette rencontre sera l’occasion d’échanger directement avec l’artisan, de poser vos questions et de découvrir un métier où tradition, précision et créativité se rencontrent.

Con motivo de las Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio 2026, la Oficina de Turismo de Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers le invita a descubrir un oficio artístico raro y fascinante: el de encuadernador dorado.
Verdadero artesano del libro, el encuadernador dorado revive las obras trabajando con paciencia y precisión el papel, el cartón, el cuero, la tela y los materiales de cubierta. Desde la preparación de los cuadernos hasta la realización de la encuadernación, pasando por los acabados y la doratura, cada etapa requiere destreza, habilidad y pasión.
Durante esta demostración artesanal, podrá observar los gestos tradicionales del oficio, descubrir las herramientas utilizadas por el encuadernador y comprender las diferentes etapas necesarias para la fabricación o restauración de un libro.
La doradura, particularmente emblemática de este saber hacer, también será puesta de relieve: con ayuda de hierros y caracteres calentados, el artesano marca delicadamente el cuero u otros soportes para crear motivos, adornos o inscripciones.
Este encuentro será una oportunidad para hablar directamente con el artesano, hacer preguntas y descubrir un oficio donde la tradición, la precisión y la creatividad se encuentran.
