Eine theatralische Inszenierung nimmt die Form eines imaginären Dialogs zwischen einem Ehrwürdigen Meister, der von Colette Loubatière, einer Historikerin und Mitglied der Geschichtskommission der französischen Föderation für Menschenrechte, interpretiert wird, und Baruch Spinoza, der von Jean verkörpert wird.Marie Lovicki, Mitglied des Grand Orient de France.
Baruch Spinoza beantragt seine Aufnahme in die Freimaurerei. Nach der Lektüre der drei Umfragen fragt ihn der Ehrwürdige Meister: "Herr Spinoza, wie können Sie Freiheit und Determinismus vereinbaren?"
Er antwortet: Die Menschen irren sich, wenn sie glauben, frei zu sein. Sie sind sich ihrer Handlungen bewusst, aber nicht der Ursachen, die sie bestimmen. Freiheit bedeutet nicht, zu entscheiden, sondern zu verstehen, was uns antreibt."
Nach der Anhörung unter dem Banner des Kandidaten muss die Versammlung über seine mögliche Zulassung entscheiden...

A theatrical staging takes the form of an imaginary dialogue between a Venerable Master, played by Colette Loubatière, historian and member of the History Commission of the French Federation of Human Rights, and Baruch Spinoza, played by Jean-Marie Lovicki, member of the Grand Orient de France.
Baruch Spinoza is applying for admission to Freemasonry. After reading the three surveys, the Venerable Master asked him: "Mr. Spinoza, how can you reconcile freedom and determinism?"
He replied: "Men are wrong when they believe themselves free. They are aware of their actions, but ignore the causes that determine them. Freedom is not to decide, but to understand what drives us.”

Una messa in scena teatrale prende la forma di un dialogo immaginario tra un Venerabile Maestro, interpretato da Colette Loubatière, storica e membro della Commissione di storia della Federazione francese dei diritti umani, e Baruch Spinoza, interpretato da Jean-Marie Lovicki, membro del Grand Orient de France.
Baruch Spinoza chiede l'ammissione alla massoneria. Dopo la lettura delle tre inchieste, il Venerabile Maestro lo interroga: "Signor Spinoza, come può conciliare libertà e determinismo?"
Risponde: «Gli uomini si sbagliano quando si credono liberi. Sono consapevoli delle loro azioni, ma ignorano le cause che li determinano. La libertà non è decidere, ma capire cosa ci anima.
Dopo l'audizione sotto la bandana del candidato, l'assemblea dovrà pronunciarsi sulla sua eventuale ammissione...

Une mise en scène théâtrale prend la forme d’un dialogue imaginaire entre un Vénérable Maître, interprété par Colette Loubatière, historienne et membre de la Commission d’histoire de la Fédération française du Droit humain, et Baruch Spinoza, incarné par Jean-Marie Lovicki, membre du Grand Orient de France.
Baruch Spinoza demande son admission en franc-maçonnerie. Après la lecture des trois enquêtes, le Vénérable Maître l’interroge : « Monsieur Spinoza, comment pouvez-vous concilier la liberté et le déterminisme ? »
Il répond : « Les hommes se trompent lorsqu’ils se croient libres. Ils sont conscients de leurs actions, mais ignorent les causes qui les déterminent. La liberté, ce n’est pas de décider, mais de comprendre ce qui nous anime. »
Après l’audition sous le bandeau du candidat, l’assemblée devra se prononcer sur son éventuelle admission…

Una puesta en escena teatral toma la forma de un diálogo imaginario entre un Venerable Maestro, interpretado por Colette Loubatière, historiadora y miembro de la Comisión de Historia de la Federación Francesa del Derecho Humano, y Baruch Spinoza, interpretado por Jean-Marie Lovicki, miembro del Gran Oriente de Francia.
