Kennen Sie die Geschichte der Kirche Saint-Maurice?
Unterhalb der königlichen Festung von Chinon gelegen, dominiert sie das Stadtzentrum und den Stadtteil der Stadt-Festung, die einst von den Mauern des Schlosses umgeben war.
Das Gebäude stammt aus dem 10. Jahrhundert, hat aber mehrere Erweiterungen erfahren. Im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert unternahmen die Plantagenets Bauarbeiten an der königlichen Festung, darunter eine Erweiterung der Kirche Saint-Maurice, um mehr Gläubige aufzunehmen.
Im 15. Jahrhundert, mit dem Aufenthalt von Karl VII. auf der Burg Chinon, erlebte die Kirche noch architektonische Veränderungen.

Do you know the history of the Saint-Maurice church?
Located below the Royal Fortress of Chinon, it dominates the city center and the quarter of the town-fort, formerly surrounded by the walls of the castle.
The building dates from the 10th century but has undergone several extensions. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Plantagenets undertook work at the Royal Fortress involving an expansion of the church of Saint-Maurice to accommodate more faithful.
In the 15th century, with the stay of Charles VII at the castle of Chinon, the church is still undergoing architectural modifications.

L'edificio risale al X secolo ma ha subito diversi ampliamenti. Nel XII e XIII secolo, i Plantagenet intrapresero dei lavori alla fortezza reale che implicarono un ampliamento della chiesa di Saint-Maurice per accogliere più fedeli.
Nel XV secolo, con la permanenza di Carlo VII al castello di Chinon, la chiesa subì ancora delle modifiche architettoniche.

Située en contrebas de la Forteresse royale de Chinon, elle domine le centre-ville et le quartier de la ville-fort, autrefois entouré par les murailles du château.
L’édifice date du Xe siècle mais a connu plusieurs agrandissements. Aux XIIe et XIIIe siècles, les Plantagenêt entreprennent des travaux à la Forteresse royale impliquant un agrandissement de l’église Saint-Maurice pour accueillir plus de fidèles.
Au XVe, avec le séjour de Charles VII au château de Chinon, l’église connaît encore des modifications architecturales.
