Building built in the revival of Christian art in the first half of the 20th century by architects Jacques Droz and Joseph Marrast. Work began in 1914, interrupted by the war, resumed in 1919 and completed in 1924\. It is a centered construction of Byzantine inspiration and one of the earliest examples of religious architecture exploiting the constructive possibilities of reinforced concrete combining modernity and the search for the simplicity of the early church. The decor of exceptional quality is made in part by artists from the Sacred Art workshops created by Maurice Denis in 1919\. Paintings by Maurice Denis, Henri Marret (way of the Cross), Maurice Dhomme (ceramic decorations), Charles Plessard, Gabrielle Faure and Henri de Maistre. Statues sculpted by Armand Boutrolle. Wrought iron grids by Raymond Subes.
