Das Kloster wurde von Jeanne de Lestonnac, einer Nichte von Montaigne, zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts gegründet und kümmerte sich bis zur endgültigen Schließung in den 1980er Jahren ausschließlich um die Ausbildung der Mädchen.

Founded by Jeanne de Lestonnac, niece of Montaigne, at the beginning of the 17th century, this convent was only concerned with the education of young girls until its definitive closure in the 1980s.
