Das CCI freut sich sehr, das neue Multiscreen-Filmwerk auszustellen. Earthbound, de Clare Langan.
Als Meditation über das Gedächtnis, die Auslöschung und den Fußabdruck der menschlichen Präsenz präsentiert, spielt diese visuell beeindruckende Installation in einer Welt, die durch die Folgen einer zukünftigen Eiszeit verändert wurde und erwacht, während das Eis zurückgeht. Während das Permafrost schmilzt, taucht eine einsame Gestalt aus den Tiefen eines Gletschers auf der Suche nach Leben auf und entdeckt die Überreste einer verschwundenen Welt, fossilisierte Tiere, Insekten und menschliche Fragmente. Gefilmt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem renommierten Kameramann Robbie Ryan (Poor Creatures und Yorgos Lanthimos' Favorit) bietet dieses immersive Werk einen zeitgemäßen Einblick in die fragile Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Natur in einer Zeit der Klimakrise und des Massenaussterbens.

The CCI is very happy to exhibit the new multi-screen cinematographic work, Earthbound, of Clare Langan.
Presented as a meditation on memory, extinction and the imprint of human presence, this visually striking installation takes place in a world transformed by the consequences of a future ice age and what awakens as the ice recedes. As the permafrost melts, a solitary figure emerges from the depths of a glacier in search of life and discovers the remains of a vanished world, fossilized animals, insects and fragments of human debris. Filmed in collaboration with Robbie Ryan, renowned director of photography (Poor Creatures and The Favorite by Yorgos Lanthimos), this immersive work offers a timely vision of the fragile relationship between humanity and the natural world in the era of the climate crisis and mass extinction.

Présentée comme une méditation sur la mémoire, l'extinction et l'empreinte de la présence humaine, cette installation visuellement saisissante se déroule dans un monde transformé par les conséquences d’une future période glaciaire et ce qui se réveille à mesure que la glace recule. Alors que le pergélisol fond, une silhouette solitaire émerge des profondeurs d’un glacier à la recherche de vie et découvre les vestiges d’un monde disparu, des animaux fossilisés, des insectes et des fragments de débris humains. Filmé en collaboration avec Robbie Ryan, directeur de photographie renommé (Pauvres Créatures et La Favorite de Yorgos Lanthimos), cette œuvre immersive offre une vision opportune de la relation fragile entre humanité et monde naturel à l’ère de la crise climatique et de l’extinction massive.
