Ich schlage eine Arbeit vor, die anhand von Fotografien entstanden ist, die ich an der Universität Jussieu (Paris) gemacht habe, als ich dort am 2. März 1978 studierte.
Ich nahm damals an einer ganz besonderen Veranstaltung teil: Die Krönung von Mouna I., "Unbilissimo Kaiser".

Für meine Teilnahme am Emoi Photographique 2020 in Angouleme habe ich die Negative meines kleinen Berichts herausgeholt, gealtert und abgenutzt, um sie Ihnen in einem zeitlichen und symbolischen Kontext zu präsentieren, der sich in 40 Jahren schrecklich verändert hat... Was für komische Empfindungen für mich, mitten in sozialen Konflikten, begleitet von Hass und Gewalt, an diese kinderfreundlichen, sympathischen Demonstrationen zu denken, die ohne CRS in der Umgebung waren und dennoch starke (und leider noch aktuelle) Botschaften vermittelten.
Diese zeitliche "Entführung" habe ich beschlossen, sie durch eine ästhetische (im philosophischen Sinne des Begriffs) "Entführung" zu bezeichnen, indem 14 dieser Negative in das Register des Objekts aufgenommen wurden. Man sieht nicht mehr einfach die auf dem Foto gezeigte Realität, sondern dort sieht man "den fotografierten Gegenstand", als wäre er zerschnitten, aus der Vergangenheit gerissen und vor unseren Blick gestellt. Der neue Kontext, die bunten Tapeten, wenn sie zeitlich durch die Farbe kontrastieren, lassen der Interpretation freien Lauf (für mich ist es nicht das Ziel, eine zu stark diktierte Botschaft zu vermitteln).

I propose a work made from photographs that I took at the University of Jussieu (Paris), when I was a student there, on March 2, 1978.
I then participated in a very special event: The coronation of Mouna I, "an extremely doubtful emperor."

For my participation in the Emoi Photographique 2020 in Angoulëme, I brought out the negatives of my short report, old and worn, to present them to you in a temporal and symbolic context that has evolved terribly in 40 years... What strange sensations for me, in the midst of social conflicts accompanied by hatred and violence, to remember these good-natured, friendly demonstrations without riot police in the area, which nevertheless conveyed strong messages (and still relevant, alas).
This temporal "diversion", I decided to evoke it by an aesthetic "diversion" (in the philosophical sense of the term), bringing 14 of these negatives into the register of the object. We no longer simply see the reality shown in the photo, but we see there the "photographic object", as if cut out, torn from the past, and placed in front of our gaze. The new context, colored wallpapers, if they temporally contrast by color, give free rein to interpretation (the goal for me is not to convey a message too dictated).

Partecipai allora ad una manifestazione molto particolare: la consacrazione di Mouna I, "imperatore débilissime".

Per la mia partecipazione all'Emoi Photographique 2020 ad Angouleme, ho tirato fuori i negativi del mio breve reportage, invecchiati e consumati, per presentarli in un contesto temporale e simbolico che si è terribilmente evoluto in 40 anni... Che sensazioni strane per me, in mezzo a conflitti sociali accompagnati da odi e violenze, ricordare quelle manifestazioni benevole, simpatica, senza CRS nei dintorni, eppure portavano messaggi forti (e purtroppo ancora di attualità).
Questo "dirottamento" temporale, ho deciso di evocarlo con un "dirottamento" estetico (nel senso filosofico del termine), riportando 14 di questi negativi nel registro dell'oggetto. Non si vede più semplicemente la realtà mostrata nella foto, ma si vede "l'oggetto fotografico", come tagliato, strappato dal passato e posato di fronte al nostro sguardo. Il nuovo contesto, le carte da parati colorate, se contrastano temporalmente con il colore, lasciano spazio all'interpretazione (lo scopo per me non è far passare un messaggio troppo dettato).

Je participais alors à une manifestation très particulière : Le sacre de Mouna 1er, « empereur débilissime ».

Pour ma participation à l'Emoi Photographique 2020 à Angoulëme, j'ai ressorti les négatifs de mon petit reportage, vieillis et usés, afin de vous les présenter dans un contexte temporel et symbolique qui a terriblement évolué en 40 ans... Quelles drôles de sensations pour moi, en plein conflits sociaux accompagnés de haines et de violences, de me souvenir de ces manifestations bon-enfant, sympathiques, sans CRS dans les environs, et qui pourtant véhiculaient des messages forts (et encore d'actualité, hélas).
Ce « détournement » temporel, j'ai décidé de l'évoquer par un « détournement » esthétique (au sens philosophique du terme), en ramenant 14 de ces négatifs dans le registre de l'objet. On ne voit plus simplement la réalité montrée sur la photo, mais on y voit « l'objet photographie », comme découpé, arraché du passé, et posé face à notre regard. Le nouveau contexte, les papiers peints colorés, s'ils contrastent temporellement par la couleur, laissent libre cours à l'interprétation (le but n'étant pas pour moi de faire passer un message trop dicté).

Para mi participación en el Emoi Photographique 2020 en Angouleme, saqué los negativos de mi pequeño reportaje, envejecidos y desgastados, para presentárselos en un contexto temporal y simbólico que ha evolucionado terriblemente en 40 años... Qué extrañas sensaciones para mí, en medio de conflictos sociales acompañados de odio y violencia, recordar esas manifestaciones cariñosas, simpáticas, sin CRS en los alrededores, pero que transmitían mensajes fuertes (y todavía actuales, por desgracia).
Este "desvío" temporal, decidí evocarlo por un "desvío" estético (en el sentido filosófico del término), llevando 14 de estos negativos al registro del objeto. Ya no se ve simplemente la realidad mostrada en la foto, sino que se ve "el objeto fotográfico", como cortado, arrancado del pasado y colocado frente a nuestra mirada. El nuevo contexto, los papeles pintados coloridos, si contrastan temporalmente por el color, dejan libre curso a la interpretación (el objetivo para mí no es transmitir un mensaje demasiado dictado).
