Samuel Lewis, ein Bauer und Künstler, ist ein täglicher Dichter.
Als leidenschaftlicher Autodidakt hat er gelernt, sein Land zu kultivieren wie auch zu zeichnen und aufmerksam auf seine Umgebung zu hören. Seine Arbeit wird von einer tiefen Überzeugung getragen: Wir sind nur auf der Durchreise, und die von der menschlichen Hand hinterlassene Spur sollte unauffällig bleiben, ohne sich jemals unwiderruflich in eine bereits stark erprobte Welt zu begeben.
Im Rahmen von Rendez-vous aux Jardins wird er eine gezeichnete Konferenz anbieten, bei der Live-Skizzen mit Austausch über sein künstlerisches Universum und seine Lebensphilosophie kombiniert werden.

A peasant and an artist, Samuel Lewis is a poet of everyday life.
Self-taught, passionate, he learned to cultivate his land as well as to draw it, by listening attentively to his environment. His work is driven by a deep conviction: we are only passing, and the trace left by the hand of man should remain discreet, without ever imposing itself in an irreversible way in a world already strongly tested.
As part of the Rendez-vous aux Jardins, he will offer a drawing conference, combining live sketches and discussions around his artistic universe and his philosophy of life.

Autodidacte passionné, il a appris à cultiver sa terre comme à dessiner, à l’écoute attentive de son environnement. Son travail est porté par une conviction profonde : nous ne sommes que de passage, et la trace laissée par la main de l’homme devrait demeurer discrète, sans jamais s’imposer de manière irréversible dans un monde déjà fortement éprouvé.

Su trabajo está sostenido por una convicción profunda: nosotros sólo estamos de paso, y la huella dejada por la mano del hombre debería permanecer discreta, sin imponerse nunca irreversiblemente en un mundo ya fuertemente probado.
En el marco de Rendez-vous aux Jardins, propondrá una conferencia diseñada, combinando bocetos en directo e intercambios alrededor de su universo artístico y de su filosofía de vida.
