Laurence Ayrault, former president of the Revue d'Histoire de Fontainebleau et de sa Région, will give a presentation on the 36 people shot in the Plaine de Chanfroy.
As the Liberation approached, on 21 July 1944, 22 resistance fighters were extracted from Fontainebleau prison, then 14 others on 17 August. Their fate remains unknown until December 7, 1944, when American soldiers discover by chance their remains in the plain of Chanfroy.
From archival documents (press, military files, trials...) and meetings with the families, the story of each of these victims emerges.
