Die aus Schweden, Norwegen und Dänemark stammenden Wikinger begannen ihre Invasionen um das Jahr 800. Im Jahr 911 unterzeichnete Karl III., König von Frankreich, den Vertrag von Saint-Clair-sur-Epte und gab gegen den Frieden einen großen Teil der heutigen Normandie an Rollon ab, der zum ersten Herzog der Normandie wurde. Die Schlacht bei Hastings fand am 14. Oktober 1066 statt, in der sich der letzte angelsächsische König Harold II. gegen den damaligen Eroberer Wilhelm von Normandy stellte, ein entscheidender Sieg für diesen heiligen König von England am Weihnachtstag 1066 in der Westminster Abbey. Im Jahr 2016 wird der 950. Jahrestag dieser Schlacht begangen.
Um dieses historische Jubiläum sowie die Vereinigung der beiden normannischen Regionen zu feiern, präsentiert der Maler JUDIKAHEL seine außergewöhnliche Arbeit über das Epos von Wilhelm dem Eroberer. Auf 33 ausgestellten 70x200 cm großen Tafeln greift der Künstler das Thema des berühmten Bayeux-Wandteppichs "Guillaume à la conquête de l'Angleterre" auf.

The Vikings, originally from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, began their invasions around the year 800. It was in 911 that Charles III, King of France signed the Treaty of Saint Clair sur Epte, ceding for peace a large part of present-day Normandy to Rollon who became the first Duke of Normandy. The Battle of Hastings took place on 14 October 1066, between the last Anglo-Saxon king Harold II and William the Conqueror, then Duke of Normandy, a decisive victory for the latter, crowned King of England on Christmas Day 1066 in Westminster Abbey. In 2016, the 950th anniversary of this battle is commemorated.
To celebrate this historic anniversary as well as the unification of the two Norman regions, the painter JUDIKAHEL presents his exceptional work on the epic of William the Conqueror. On 33 panels of 70x200cm exposed, the artist revisits the theme of the famous tapestry of Bayeux "William to conquer England".

Nel 911, Carlo III, re di Francia, firmò il trattato di Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, cedendo contro la pace gran parte dell'attuale Normandia a Rollon che divenne il primo duca di Normandia. La battaglia di Hastings si svolse il 14 ottobre 1066 tra l'ultimo re anglosassone Harold II e William il Conquistatore, allora duca di Normandia, una vittoria decisiva per quest'ultimo, sacro re d'Inghilterra il giorno di Natale del 1066 nell'Abbazia di Westminster. Nel 2016 è stato celebrato il 950o anniversario di questa battaglia.
Per celebrare questo anniversario storico e l'unificazione delle due regioni normanne, il pittore JUDIKAHEL presenta il suo lavoro eccezionale sull'epopea di Guglielmo il Conquistatore. C’est en 911 que Charles III, Roi de France signa le Traité de Saint Clair sur Epte, cédant contre la paix une large part de la Normandie actuelle à Rollon qui devint le premier Duc de Normandie. La bataille de Hastings eu lieu le 14 Octobre 1066 opposant le dernier roi anglo-saxon Harold II à Guillaume le Conquérant alors Duc de Normandie, victoire décisive pour ce dernier, sacré Roi d’Angleterre le jour de Noël 1066 dans l’Abbaye de Westminster.
