The museographic space «Victor Schœlcher, his work» is implanted in a medieval house dating the XVIth century, restoring in the building a second youth. Fessenheim is one of the five sites of the big(great) East of France of «the road of abolition of slavery and of human rights» with the house of Negritude to Champagney (70), the house abbot Gregory to Emberménil (54), the fort of Joux to Pontarlier (25) and the municipality of Chamblanc (21). This road joins the large international project of the «Road of the slave» supported by the UNO.
