Alice Milliat aus Nantes war von 1910 bis 1936 die Pionierin des weltweiten Frauensports. Das Recht der Frauen, an den Leichtathletik-Wettkämpfen bei den Olympischen Spielen 1928 teilzunehmen, erlangte sie nicht ohne Schwierigkeiten, bevor sie 1936 völlig anonym verschwand. Ihr Kampf, den sie allein gegen fast alle geführt hat, kehrt heute ins Licht der Öffentlichkeit zurück.
