Die Musiker des Gurumbé-Projekts trafen sich, um den wesentlichen Einfluss Afrikas auf die typisch andalusische Flamenco-Kunst zu veranschaulichen, der insbesondere aus der bewegten Geschichte der Sklaverei zwischen Afrika, Amerika und Andalusien herrührt. Zahlreiche "Palos" oder Stile wie der Tango, die Rumba, die Milonga oder der Fandango, haben ihren Namen aus dem Golf von Guinea.
Der Begriff Gurumbé steht für Tanz und Gesang in der kongolesischen Sprache Kikongo. Das Gurumbé-Projekt bietet eine Neuinterpretation des Cante Jondo und der Palos oder "Hin- und Herrhythmen" zwischen Afrika, Amerika und Andalusien sowie ein modernes Gegengewicht und vielfältige Instrumente und Talente. Diese einzigartige musikalische Fusion ehrt afrikanische und andalusische Beiträge, während sie neue kreative Horizonte erkundet. Indem es diese gemeinsamen Wurzeln hervorhebt, bietet das Gurumbé-Projekt eine tiefe und inklusive Vision des Flamenco an ein Publikum, das auf kulturellen Austausch und Neuheiten bedacht ist.

The musicians of Gurumbé Project met to illustrate the essential influence of Africa in flamenco art so typically Andalusian, resulting especially from the tormented history of slavery between Africa, the Americas and Andalusia. Many "palos" or styles such as Tango, Rumba, Milonga or Fandango, derive their name from the Gulf of Guinea.
The term Gurumbé evokes dance and singing in the Kikongo language, the Bantu language of the Congo. The Gurumbé Project offers a reinterpretation of cante jondo and the palos or rhythms "back and forth" between Africa, America and Andalusia and offers modern counterpoint and various instruments and talents. This unique musical fusion honours African and Andalusian contributions, while exploring new creative horizons. By highlighting these shared roots, the Gurumbé Project offers a deep and inclusive vision of flamenco to an audience eager for cultural exchanges and novelties.

Molti "palos" o stili come il Tango, la Rumba, la Milonga o il Fandango, traggono l'origine del loro nome dal golfo di Guinea.
Il termine Gurumbé evoca la danza e il canto nella lingua Kikongo, lingua bantoue del Congo. Il Gurumbé Project propone una rilettura del cante jondo e dei palos o ritmi "di andata e ritorno" tra l'Africa, l'America e l'Andalusia e offre un contrappunto moderno e strumenti e talenti vari. Questa fusione musicale unica onora i contributi africani e andalusi, mentre esplora nuovi orizzonti creativi. Mettendo in risalto queste radici condivise, il Gurumbé Project propone una visione profonda e inclusiva del flamenco per un pubblico avido di scambi culturali e novità.
