Église du Saint-Esprit
186 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris, France
Church built from 1928 to 1935 by the architect Paul Tournon. The plan of the building is inspired by that of Saint Sophia in Istanbul. It is made in reinforced concrete according to the plans of the company of François Hennebique, with a coating of red bricks of Burgundy. The decorative program traces the history of the militant church then triumphant, from the 2nd to the 20th century, and calls upon the Workshops of Sacred Art, composed of the following artists: Maurice Denis, Georges Desvallières, Nicolas Untersteller and Elizabeth Branly for the mural painting and fresco; Carlo Sarrabezolles for the sculpture; Louis Barillet, Paul Louzier and Jean Herbert-Stevens for the stained glass windows; Raymond Subes for the ironwork; Marcel Imbs for the mosaic and the boxes of the stained glass windows of the crypt.
