ContinentPremier presents: Ismaël Lô in concert for Peace, Fraternity, and Human Solidarity
To conclude our reflections on Africa Day in style and in a spirit of unity, our Association presents a concert with Ismaël Lô, champion of universal peace, an Ambassador of the Francophonie, a singer and poet who has celebrated intercultural dialogue, tolerance, women, education, and peace.
He has also dedicated a monumental song to environmental preservation, a piece that the Geneva audience will have the privilege of discovering firsthand at this exceptional concert !
Opening acts :
Mahawa Kouyaté (Guinea and Senegal)
Brought to international prominence by kora master Soundioulou Cissokho, Maa Hawa Kouyaté (or Mahawa), with her soprano voice, is undoubtedly one of the greatest singers of Mandinka music.
Born in 1949 in Guinea, this great diva is none other than the daughter of singer and xalam player El Hadj Djali Kandara Kouyaté and singer Mariama Dianké Kouyaté, two great Guinean griots specializing in epic song.

Pour finir en beauté et en toute communion nos réflexions à l’occasion de la journée mondiale de l’Afrique, notre Association propose un concert avec Ismaël Lô, chantre de la paix universelle, un Ambassadeur de la Francophonie, un chanteur et poète qui a sublimé le dialogue des cultures, la tolérance, la Femme, l’éducation, la paix.
Il par ailleurs dédié une chanson monumentale à la préservation de l’environnement, morceau que le public genevois aura la primeur de découvrir dans le cadre de ce concert exceptionnel !
En première partie de soirée :
Mahawa Kouyate (Guinée et Sénégal)
Révélée sur la scène internationale par le maître de la kora Soundioulou Cissokho, Maa Hawa Kouyaté (ou Mahawa) à la voix de soprano est sans aucun doute l’une des plus grandes cantatrices de la chanson mandingue.
Née en 1949 en Guinée, cette grande diva n'est autre que la fille du chanteur et "xalamkat" (joueur de xalam) El Hadj Djali Kandara Kouyaté et de la cantatrice Mariama Dianké Kouyaté, deux grands "djélis" (griots) guinéens, spécialistes de la chanson épique.”
