It’s been a while since we saw her scurrying around Geneva… Suffice it to say that Traviata the Mouse isn’t put off by the construction work happening at the Grand Théâtre and has decided to take part in Hors les murs! You haven’t met her? Traviata the Mouse is not just any mouse: she has ambitions to become an opera singer and is working hard to achieve her goal. So hard, in fact, that she has an annoying habit of falling asleep in our singer’s shoes and we will need the help of the children and grownups in the audience to gently wake her up. Can you do that?
Created in 2021 as a partnership between the Grand Théâtre and early childhood professionals, La Souris Traviata was the first of a series of workshop-performances specially designed by our team for 3–6-year-olds accompanied by adults. It was followed by Colorama and its Monsieur Toutgris, Dachenka the mischievous puppy, and then Abracadabra and its magic cauldron. Today, La Souris is back for another round. These workshop-performances allow children to understand how opera singers’ voices work with participatory moments specifically adapted to the attention span of the youngest in the audience. And the best parts are the beautiful moments shared by the kids, their adult carers and the musicians and singers.

Ça faisait un moment qu’on ne l’avait pas vue trottiner dans Genève… Le moins qu’on puisse dire, c’est que la Souris Traviata n’est pas découragée par les travaux du Grand Théâtre. Elle aussi a décidé de participer au Hors les murs ! Vous ne la connaissez pas encore ? La Souris Traviata, ce n’est pas n’importe quelle souris : elle a pour ambition de devenir chanteuse lyrique et pour cela elle travaille dur. À tel point qu’elle a la fâcheuse habitude de s’endormir dans les chaussures de notre chanteuse qui a besoin de l’aide des enfants et des adultes venus assister à la représentation pour la réveiller en douceur. On compte sur vous ?
Créée en 2021 en collaboration entre le Grand Théâtre et des professionnels de la petite enfance, La Souris Traviata a été le premier des ateliers-spectacles spécialement conçu par notre équipe pour les 3-6 ans accompagnés d’adultes. Lui ont succédé Colorama et son Monsieur Tout-gris, Dachenka le bébé chien malicieux puis Abracadabra et son chaudron magique. Aujourd’hui, la Souris revient pour un nouveau tour de piste. Ces ateliers-spectacles permettent de découvrir la voix lyrique avec des moments participatifs spécifiquement adaptés à la capacité d’attention des plus petits. Plus important encore, ils offrent de beaux moments partagés entre les enfants, les adultes qui les accompagnent et les artistes.
