Opération Vermillon – Exhibition
At the Imprimerie des Arts, the exhibition presents works by Nicolas Noverraz and the first stages of an artistic investigation into memory, war and the transmission of family trauma.

@ API
Opération Vermillon is an artistic and documentary project centred on a tragic event that took place during the Second World War and its repercussions several decades later.
In 1944, in the Netherlands, a woman is killed in front of her daughter. Generations later, her grandson, Geneva-based artist Nicolas Noverraz, reflects on the traces this event may have left on his family history and on the ways in which trauma can be passed down through generations.
The exhibition presents works created by the artist as part of this process, printed in the API’s typographic workshops and subsequently screen-printed. They are the first forms of a project that continues through an investigation combining archives, photographs, letters and personal accounts.
