For the year 2020, which the Ministry of Culture dedicates to comics, the Sign continues its investigations on text and image reports, on the pretext of typographical exploration.
The exhibition Jean-François Rey, Typography and Comics deals with issues inherent to contemporary typographic creation in the field of 9th art. Jean-François Rey, co-director of the creative studio Incandescence, is one of the actors unfairly misunderstood by typographical characters and adaptations applied to comics.
His trajectory made him cross between other Charles Burns, Robert Crumb, Mark Bell, for the editions Cornélius, Bastien Vivès, David B., Dupuy & Berbérian with the publishing house the Association, Marion Montaigne for his recent bestseller «Dans la combi de Thomas Pesquet».
The exhibition will be a pretext to show the evolution of digital tools of typographic character drawings.
