In 1969, the director Jo Tréhard moved with his team to 32 rue des Cordes in an old parish hall that he converted into a theatre. The Théâtre des Cordes becomes the mother house of the Comédie de Caen – Centre Dramatique National de Normandie. Aurore Fattier has directed the Comédie de Caen since 1 January 2024.
