TaPIXIe exhibition in Bayeux

Metal figurines give a new dimension to the Bayeux Tapestry

Famous for its creations of numbered lead figures, painted by hand and inspired by the universe of the Comic Strip, the Norman company PIXI, created in 1982, launched a crazy challenge, that of reconstructing the entire Bayeux Tapestry with a thousand small figures thirty meters long. The exhibition proposed under the title TaPIXIe de Bayeux will present to the public the first meters of this unprecedented 3D creation, which should end in 2027 on the occasion of the Millennium of the birth of Guillaume Le Conquérant.

On almost 70 meters long, immerse yourself in the story of the conquest of England in the year 1066 by William, Duke of Normandy. The museum visit allows you to discover the Bayeux Tapestry in its entirety, to approach it without damaging it and to understand its history and its realization thanks to an audio-guided commentary, available in 16 languages. A junior commentary is also available in French and English. A permanent exhibition on the first floor enriches the visit.
