Founded in 1868, the museum presents an important collection of works by painters of the estuary (Courbet, Monet, Jongkind, Dubourg, Cals) gathered around Eugène Boudin (whose museum retains 104 numbers). The establishment exhibits and conserves more than 2500 paintings, sculptures, drawings or engravings, more than 1000 objects, headdresses, costumes, furniture..., some 700 photographs on glass plates of the years 1880-1920, a collection of more than 100 tourist posters on Normandy between 1880 and 1950 and a set of toys dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries.
