This weekend, it’s the 2024 Matrimoine Days with H/F Normandie!
For the occasion, the Image café and the association Beau Temps mais orageux invite you to discover in preview one of the films of the Chantal Akerman Retrospective, which opens in France on September 25, 2024. With 2 cycles and 16 films, this is the first time in France that a retrospective of such magnitude is devoted to this revolutionary and unclassifiable filmmaker. From the Belgian director, the Traversée team chose The Rendez-vous of Anna (1978) ; and Loris Dru-Lumbroso, distributor at Capricci, the distribution company that implemented this retrospective, is pleased to join them in questioning the place of the matrimony in cinema.
In The Rendez-vous of Anna, Anna travels from hotels to stations, impersonal places par excellence, to present her films. Through Anna interpreted by Aurore Clément, the filmmaker creates a nomadic character, crossed by different cultures, an echo chamber of the world. A penetrating portrait of a woman’s visceral malaise, and a fascinating odyssey through a haunted Europe, The Rendez-vous of Anna turns out to be much more personal than one might have imagined in 1978, bringing to the forefront the concerns expressed by Chantal Akerman throughout her career.

TRAVERSÉE, Cycle de rencontres Femmes & Cinéma ➡️ is the meeting dedicated to women at the cinema of the Association Beau Temps but stormy at the Café des images. An association of cinema rooted in Normandy, Beau temps mais orageux hosts Les Traversées at the Café des images after three editions of the Passage festival on the Côte de Nacre.
