Rando-archive in the footsteps of J Aubert, A Lefevre and G Candilis, visits to Bormes from the operations at Gaou Bénat, to the sunny Rade, hosted by Manuela and Christian Schott, and to Le Lavandou de la Lézardière with discovery on site of the architects' archives
The "Gaou Bénat", the "Lézardière" and "la Rade ensoleillée" are pioneering collective operations of holiday habitat from the 1960s and 1970s, designed and built for the first by the agency Aubert Lefevre and for the last by the architects Georges Candilis and Pierre Raoux. The visit offers, within a radius of a few kilometers, a circuit allowing both the discovery of these seaside architectures, enriched by the confrontation on the site of the archives of the projects and the material to reflect on the question of their rehabilitation and their future, fifty years later, both in terms of architecture and landscape, in a context of climate change and strong tourism development.
Since 2022, MALTAE has been offering this new form of architectural visit, bringing the architectural archives closer to the site of the project whose history they embody, thus inviting another exercise in history, sharing it to make it more collective and revisit it. the discovery of new sources, oral, written, built and new audiences. In 2022, it was the audience of the master’s students of the HEIA of Fribourg. The formula proved fertile; The month of architecture 2026 is appropriate to take a new audience to discover the pioneering works built in Bormes and Le Lavandou by Jean Aubert and André Lefevre, as well as the neighboring one, "La Rade ensoleillée" by the internationally renowned architect Georges Candilis.
