Rehabilitate the existing buildings in the Bergeracois
From housing to town centers: meeting the needs of residents and the challenges of climate change
The Bergeracois has an important and diverse ancient building. In cities, towns and rural areas, many housing units and buildings are vacant, degraded or unsuitable for current uses. Their rehabilitation can provide answers to the aging of the population, the decrease in household size and the need for more energy-efficient housing that is better suited to high temperatures.
Based on examples, the conference will show how the rehabilitation of buildings can be part of a broader reflection on land use planning. It will address its links with climate change adaptation, as well as the conditions necessary for its implementation.
