Discover the wines of Beaujolais
As part of the European Heritage Days, come and taste three emblematic wines from the terroirs of Beaujolais, recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark since 2018.
Granites, limestone, volcanic rocks… more than 300 types of soil make up the terroirs of Beaujolais, recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark since 2018. This remarkable geological richness is revealed through the localities and parcels of the 12 appellations of Beaujolais.
The cellars, houses and estates of Beaujolais play with these fragments of terroirs to design parcels of excellence, diverse and bursting with typicity.
Beaujolais is known worldwide for its wines. Located on the edge of the Massif Central, north-west of Lyon, and facing the Alps, Beaujolais has inherited one of the richest and most complex geologies in France and, in some respects, the Earth. The diversity of its subsoil and landscapes was born from the convergence of many geological phenomena that leave a marked mark in the living environment of the men of this territory. The peculiarity of Beaujolais is that from two majority grape varieties recognized by the appellation, develops a multitude of wines with very different profiles. This difference comes from the terroir and it is the geology that explains it, in connection with the know-how of the winemakers of Beaujolais.
In addition to the 3:30 pm conference, come and taste three emblematic Beaujolais wines from different soils, as part of the European Heritage Days.
