Vom 8. April 2026 bis zum 4. Oktober 2027
Anlässlich des Zweihundertjahrs der Fotografie 2026-2027 bietet diese Ausstellung eine Durchfahrt durch die im Museum aufbewahrte Sammlung von Fotografien aus Nepal, von den königlichen Porträts des 19. Jahrhunderts bis zu den Arbeiten des zeitgenössischen Fotografen Prasiit Sthapit. Durch die Zusammenstellung von neuen oder selten gezeigten Ensembles hinterfragt diese Begegnung, wie die Bilder die Sichtbarkeit des Landes geprägt haben, historische Erzählungen aufgebaut und Abwesenheiten hinterlassen haben.

From April 8, 2026 to October 4, 2027
On the occasion of the Bicentenary of Photography 2026-2027, this exhibition offers a journey through the collection of photographs from Nepal kept in the museum, from royal portraits of the 19th century to the work of contemporary photographer Prasiit Sthapit. By bringing together previously unseen or rarely shown sets, this exhibition questions the way images have shaped the visibility of the country, constructed historical narratives and allowed absences to persist.

In occasione del Bicentenario della Fotografia 2026-2027, questa esposizione propone un percorso attraverso la collezione di fotografie del Nepal conservate al museo, dai ritratti reali del XIX secolo all'opera del fotografo contemporaneo Prasiit Sthapit. Riunendo insiemi inediti o raramente mostrati, questo confronto interroga il modo in cui le immagini hanno plasmato la visibilità del paese, costruito racconti storici e lasciato sussistere assenze.

A l’occasion du Bicentenaire de la Photographie 2026-2027, cet accrochage propose une traversée de la collection de photographies du Népal conservées au musée, depuis les portraits royaux du 19ᵉ siècle au travail du photographe contemporain Prasiit Sthapit. En réunissant des ensembles inédits ou rarement montrés, cet accrochage interroge la manière dont les images ont façonné la visibilité du pays, construit des récits historiques et laissé subsister des absences.

Con motivo del Bicentenario de la Fotografía 2026-2027, este enganche propone un recorrido por la colección de fotografías de Nepal conservadas en el museo, desde los retratos reales del siglo XIX hasta el trabajo del fotógrafo contemporáneo Prasiit Sthapit. Al reunir conjuntos inéditos o raramente mostrados, este encuentro interroga la manera en que las imágenes han moldeado la visibilidad del país, construido relatos históricos y dejado subsistir ausencias.
