Take root in life
AIDS and prevention at the Moustache et Dentelles gallery
We are pleased to welcome in our M&D galleries, the AIDS and prevention exhibition from the collection of Nathalie Casabo-Emprin
The exhibition includes 33 photographic works, with various techniques; photos, montage photos, installation photos, some in black and white and others in color.
The theme TO TAKE ROOT seems right in relation to our neighborhood, which has suffered a lot of desertification over time, and our vocation is to bring back both culture and humanity within our neighborhood, driven by an artistic dimension.
AIDS and prevention
While after the corona virus epidemic, new pandemics are looming, and AIDS is spreading considerably in Africa, our vulnerability is more relevant than ever. She was already 30 years ago...
These are the AIDS years. An entire generation is succumbing to the scourge and awareness of the universality of the virus is slow. After raising public awareness in 1990 with the personal exhibitions of Jean-Baptiste Carhaix (The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence), Philippe Hédan (who died of AIDS shortly after his exhibition at the Musée Réattu in 1991), and Linda Troeller (TB-Aids Diary),
Nathalie Casabo Emprin then organized an exhibition at the Suzel Berna gallery aimed at breaking the taboos around the mode of transmission of the disease and ways to protect oneself from it. About thirty artists from the gallery, sculptors, photographers and painters answer the call and create for the occasion new pieces.
