This exhibition showcases the work of Gisèle Freund, a major twentieth-century photographer and portraitist, sociologist and theorist of photography of German origin, whose life was marked by exile and intellectual commitment.
A member of the Magnum agency and a pioneer of color photography, she has renewed her view on writers, artists, and places of knowledge.
In addition to the audiovisual archives, the exhibition brings together his portraits, views of libraries and emblematic bookstores from the 1930s, Norman landscapes and theoretical writings, weaving a narrative that is both intimate and intellectual.
