Museum für Kunst und Geschichte der Stadt Aix-en-Provence, das Musée du Vieil Aix präsentiert reiche und vielfältige Sammlungen von dekorativen Künsten (Fayence, Ledervorhänge, Möbel ...), Gemälde (provenzalische Landschaften, mythologische Darstellungen und Gemälde von Kirchen) und Gegenstände des täglichen Lebens des neunzehnten und zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts (Marionetten der sprechenden Krippe, santons) in einer wunderschönen Umgebung, die des Hôtel Estienne de Saint-Jean. Im Zuge der jüngsten Umbauten werden den Besuchern neue Kunstwerke und Gemälde angeboten, die mit der Geschichte des Ortes und der Stadt Aix in Verbindung stehen. Das Museum zeigt auch Stücke von unschätzbarem künstlerischem und historischem Interesse, wie ein Modell, das für eine Dekoration des Petersdoms von Rom von dem berühmten Giovanni Battista Gaulli, genannt Il Baccicio (Ende des siebzehnten Jahrhunderts) oder bemerkenswerte Ledervorhänge aus dem siebzehnten Jahrhundert entworfen wurde.

Museum of art and history of the city of Aix-en-Provence, the Musée du Vieil Aix presents rich and varied collections of decorative arts (earthenware, leather drapes, furniture...), paintings (Provençal landscapes, mythological representations and paintings of churches) and objects of daily life of the nineteenth and twentieth century (puppets of the talking crib, Santons) in a magnificent setting, that of the Hotel Estienne in Saint-Jean. Thanks to recent redevelopment, visitors are offered new decorative works of art and paintings related to the history of the place and the city of Aix. The museum also exhibits pieces of invaluable artistic and historical interest such as a model designed for a decoration of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome by the famous Giovanni Battista Gaulli, known as Il Baccicio (late 17th century) or remarkable leather drapes from the 17th century.

Museo d'arte e di storia della città di Aix-en-Provence, il Musée du Vieil Aix presenta ricche e variegate collezioni di arti decorative (terracotta, tende di cuoio, mobili...), dipinti (paesaggi provenzali, rappresentazioni mitologiche e dipinti di chiese) e oggetti della vita quotidiana del XIX e XX secolo (burattini del presepe parlante, Santons) in un ambiente magnifico, quello dell'Hotel Estienne a Saint-Jean. Grazie alla recente riqualificazione, ai visitatori vengono offerte nuove opere d'arte decorative e dipinti legati alla storia del luogo e della città di Aix. Il museo espone anche pezzi di inestimabile interesse artistico e storico, come un modello progettato per la decorazione della Basilica di San Pietro a Roma dal famoso Giovanni Battista Gaulli, noto come il Baccicio (fine XVII secolo) o notevoli tende in pelle del XVII secolo.

Musée d’art et d’histoire de la ville d’Aix-en-Provence, le Musée du Vieil Aix présente des collections riches et variées d’arts décoratifs (faïence, tentures de cuir, mobilier...), peintures (paysages provençaux, représentations mythologiques et tableaux d’églises) et objets de la vie quotidienne du XIXe et XXe siècle (marionnettes de la Crèche parlante, santons) dans un magnifique écrin, celui de l’Hôtel Estienne de Saint-Jean. A la faveur de réaménagements récents, sont proposées aux visiteurs de nouvelles œuvres d’arts décoratifs et des peintures en relation avec l’histoire du lieu et de la ville d’Aix. Le musée expose également des pièces d’un intérêt artistique et historique inestimables telles qu’une maquette conçue pour un décor de la basilique Saint-Pierre de Rome par le célèbre Giovanni Battista Gaulli dit Il Baccicio (fin du XVIIe siècle) ou encore des tentures de cuir remarquables du XVIIe siècle.

Museo de arte e historia de la ciudad de Aix-en-Provence, el Musée du Vieil Aix presenta ricas y variadas colecciones de artes decorativas (barro, cortinas de cuero, muebles...), pinturas (paisajes provenzales, representaciones mitológicas y pinturas de iglesias) y objetos de la vida cotidiana de los siglos XIX y XX (títeres del pesebre parlante, Santons) en un entorno magnífico, el del Hotel Estienne en Saint-Jean. Gracias a la reciente remodelación, se ofrecen a los visitantes nuevas obras de arte decorativas y pinturas relacionadas con la historia del lugar y la ciudad de Aix. El museo también exhibe piezas de inestimable interés artístico e histórico, como un modelo diseñado para una decoración de la Basílica de San Pedro en Roma por el famoso Giovanni Battista Gaulli, conocido como Il Baccicio (finales del siglo XVII) o unas notables cortinas de cuero del siglo XVII.
