Blaise Glauser

As an echo to the temporary exhibition "Être(s) ensemble" which will be held until 7 January 2024, a film cycle allowing to rethink the living is proposed until December 2023.

On the occasion of the first edition of Let's Doc! - Documentary Week, the film "Vedette" will be screened at 3.30 pm in the museum auditorium.

Let's Doc! is a week to discover the richness and diversity of Swiss and international documentary cinema - a week to open your eyes, your heart and your horizon.

Vedette is a Hérens cow who has until now reigned unchallenged over a herd and won many battles. But now the "queen" has grown old. To avoid the humiliation of being dethroned by young rivals on the mountain pastures, her breeders ask the film-makers to keep her for a summer. This is the beginning of a comical cohabitation between Vedette and Claudine Bories, from which a deep attachment emerges.
Filmed in the Swiss Alps, this story of taming questions our relationship with animals in a poetic way. Oscillating between peasant chronicle and intimate experience, the film is carried by the unique presence of Vedette, an animal that is both spectacular and highly symbolic, the true heroine of the story.

This screening is free.
