Cigarette posters: a look back at thirty "glorious" years (1945-1973) [Jeudi midi de l'affiche]

Thirty years of posters examined by a specialist.

Pierre Duvernay, [1952-1955]

Thanks to a corpus of advertising posters posted in Switzerland during the "Trente Glorieuses", Jacques Olivier will review the period that saw cigarettes go from being a symbol of economic prosperity to being a harmful and worrying consumer product for public health.

Dr. Jacques Olivier (MD-PhD) has a dual training in medicine and literature. He is the author of a thesis on the history of cigarette manufacturers in Switzerland and practices general internal medicine.
