Guided tour "The paintings of the church of Saint-Symphorien: education by image"

The volunteers of the Association pour la Sauvegarde de l'Église de Saint-Symphorien will be happy to welcome you and make you discover the 17th century paintings of the church.

A guided tour is offered at 3 pm, for which you can join a group of hikers who will inaugurate the trail, cleared and marked by the volunteers of the Foyer d'Education Populaire du Viala-du-Tarn, between Saint-Symphorien and Le Minier. The organization of this visit is common to both associations and to the Garden of Enclosures of Ladepeyre.

This old(former) parish church presents feature to be totally adorned with paintings(paints) in the tempera dated the XVIIth century, with predominantly flower decorations(sets), as well as a trompe l'oeil(window-dressing) Madonna and Child in the sacristy. The volunteers of the association will indulge themselves to welcome you and to make you discover the wall paintings(paints) of the XVIIth century, the new slice(edge) of restoration(catering) of which took place last April.
