Dating from the second half of the fifteenth century, the church is a fine example of a building built to the glory of the Rohan family, who once claimed to be descended from Saint Mériadec.
Inside, do not miss the choir’s wall paintings, made at the turn of the 16th century (Jessé’s tree, Passion of Christ), as well as a beautiful antique furniture, most of which is protected as historical monuments.

Church located in the centre-market town of Stival. The church is particularly interesting because of its wall paintings(paints). Chapel in the shape of Latin cross with flat bedhead. Facades are handled in fine style the 15th beginning of the 16th century, granite with big(great) windows trimmed with networks and with stained-glass windows. The south arm of the transept keeps(preserves) stained-glass windows executed in 1552\. According to legend, Saint-Mériadec collected itself in solitude around 650 there, before becoming bishop of Vannes(gates, cracks). A called bell "Hat(Cap) of Saint-Mériadec", dated the 10th - 12th centuries, is always kept(preserved) by the municipality. Put on the head of the deaf persons, she(it) was supposed to bring their healing. In the chorus(choir), wall paintings(paints) represent the life of the saint, arranged on two registers and put together by four. The treatment(processing) of the characters is in the tradition of the medieval paintings(paints) of the 15th century.
