The theme of this new edition of the European Heritage Days will be "Sustainable Heritage".
Our five sites that open their doors for free on this occasion offer many activities throughout the weekend to allow you to explore sometimes the annual theme, sometimes the plural riches of our sites.
The five sites of Chemins du patrimoine in Finistère: the Abbaye de Daoulas, the Château de Kerjean, the Manoir de Kernault, the Abbaye du Relec and the Domaine de Trévarez – are open for free for these two days.

About the location

Abbaye de Daoulas

An unique(only) Romanic cloister in Brittany and its remarkable basin, the fountain and the oratory of the 16th century, the abbey church of the 12th century: the set(group) manifests the initial splendour of the site. Old(Former) monastery, governed from the 12th century by the regular canons in the order of Saint Augustin, the Abbey of Daoulas dominates the small city of Daoulas, in the past strategical port(bearing) between Léon and Cornouaille. The origin of the abbey would go back up(raise), according to legend, in the year 510 but the first known documents, dated the 12th century, certify its foundation in 1167 by the viscount of Léon. After a long period of prosperity, buildings(ships), sold to Revolution, fall in the private domain, except the become abbey church parish church. The Abbey of Daoulas possesses privilege, rare, to accumulate the centres of interest: the charm of gardens and their botanical diversity, the patrimonial high quality of the site and the discovery of cultures distant or disappeared thanks to exhibitions(exposures) centered on elsewhere, sensitive theme always in this country of travellers.
