As part of the 150th anniversary of the Commune, the parish of Charenton wished to highlight an unknown figure of religious history, Bishop Auguste-Alexis Surat, archdeacon of Notre-Dame and Charentonnais of heart, killed during the Bloody Week and buried in the church of Saint-Pierre de Charenton.
An exhibition tracing his life and his strong ties with the city of Charenton will be held in the chapel of Conflans.

Located at the crossroads of two major communication routes, the Marne and the Seine, the mound that dominates this confluence, "Conflans" in old French, became from the Middle Ages a strategic place with a castle. Subsequently, the population growing a church mentioned as early as the fourteenth century, was erected in Conflans. It served until the completion of the present church of Saint-Pierre in 1859\. After many adventures, Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1830\. In 1843, they started building a large building, probably completed in 1867: it is the current Chapel of Conflans. After the departure of the Sisters, the Minor Seminary moved in 1911 and did not leave until 1970\. Buildings are acquired by the Lycée Notre-Dame des Missions, by the Ecole d'Architecture de Paris.
