What and how did people eat at royal courts 300 years ago? And what does this have to do with us and our table culture today?

Within the walls of the royal Prussian palaces visitors find a variety of magnificent tableware, silver cutlery and precious porcelain. Each piece tells a story about kings and queens and their time. The exhibition presents some of these historic pieces and their stories.

The highlight of the exhibition, however, is YOUR table culture: Is there a certain piece of your table culture with which you associate a special story or memory? Do you have a beloved piece of tableware (dishes, cutlery, decoration …) which may not be missing during your daily mealtimes?

Share your personal and individual table culture in our hands-on exhibition and show other visitors your favourite piece and its history.

As a participant, you can visit the exhibition for free and get a day-ticket for your family and friends (5 adults). Moreover, three annual cards for the Prussian Palaces and Gardens will be raffled among the participants.

Come to the Römischen Bäder on 7 and 14 April (1:00 - 5:00 pm) and bring us your favourite piece. Please complete in advance the attached questionnaire www.spsg.de/Tafelkulturerbe. You can also send us your story with a picture via email (Socialweb@spsg.de) and we will share them on our website.

Various workshops and table talks on food culture and culinary traditions will take place throughout the exhibition. The exhibition lasts from 5 May to 31 October (Tuesday-Sunday 10-17:30)
